I was out of town all week and didn’t get to see any of the American Idol shows until last night. Diana’s one song said it all – Don’t cry out loud, just keep it inside, you almost had it all. Fantasia did a great job and deserved to win. She’ll make a great American Idol. Diana wasn’t really singing at all – she was shouting.

It’s amazing how far they drag out these shows. It really could have been over in 30 minutes. Did they really need to stretch it out for 2 hours? Everyone else that came back to sing did a pretty good job as well. I agree with Simon that Fantasia is the best singer they have ever had. I used to feel that Kelly was the best, but after hearing her sing, it hit me that she is a good singer, but not a great one. Fantasia should have the staying power to be around for a long time. She has a lot of soul to her voice and reminds me of a combination of Macy Gray and a young Aretha Franklin.
