With every turn you make out here the place just gets more and more beautiful. The sky was overcast this morning but it all cleared up in the early afternoon leaving nothing but blue skies. We took a boat tour of the Harbor this morning and the skyline of San Diego is awesome. From there we walked. And walked. And walked. And…you get the picture. We did a ton of walking and there were a ton of people out near the water just strolling around, shopping, flying kites, whatever.
The girls held out for most of the day. I think we pushed them about as far as we could today. The Gaslamp district is pretty cool. I think we’ll need to go back there since that’s where everyone ran out of gas and decided to head back to the car, which was parked a LONG way away from where we were. I took a lot of pictures and I’m uploading them to the site now. I’ll include the link to them later. For now, here’s one…
I’ve already relaxed the only rule I had for coming here; mexican food at least once a day! I buckled under pressure today and we had seafood instead at the Fish Market. Pretty good. Even the girls ate a good bit of theirs.
We’re just back at the room now. Everyone wanted to just stay in tonight since they were so tired from all of the walking. Order a pizza and we’re waiting for it to get delivered. That’s about all we’ll do for the rest of the night. Trying to get the girls in bed early since we’re probably going to hit the Zoo tomorrow and that will be a lot of walking as well.
We’re all still coughing but were up and around. We just heavily medicate at night and hope for the best during the day. San Diego looks to be a pretty cool place to live. It’s pretty big and there seems to be a ton to do.
We rented a car from Hertz when we got here. Val wanted to get a map but I got the NeverLost navigation system instead. What an amazing use of technology. Even though the NeverLost voice that talks to you is female, Bailey has named her Bob because Delores was too hard to say. So we just call her Bob. Enter an address or attraction and Bob will talk you through it. Amazing. How about mexican food close to where you are right now? Bob will tell you. We love Bob. Best $45 we spent on this trip in my opinion. We’ll never go anywhere without him (her) again.
If everything works from here, the link to the pictures will be here – http://www.blindsquirrel.org/Photos/SanDiego/SanDiego.html
