San Diego – Wild Animal Park

Today we ventured over to the Wild Animal Park. The place is huge, which meant more walking! Yeah baby! But wait, let’s go back to last night when Val called my doctor back at home and gave her all of my symptoms – within 30 minutes the local Target in San Diego had 3 prescriptions ready for me; an antibiotic, a steroid, and a wiffer! It’s a darn shame I went through that vasectomy, because between having bursitis, needing a mouth guard because I grind my teeth at night, and a wrist brace for carpal tunnel, Val’s not coming near me anyway. Add in the little albuterol wiffer/puffer and I am every woman’s fantasy.

Tonight I am putting up another 61 pictures from San Diego’s Wild Animal Park. Some are just pictures that show how amazing the scenery is. Pretty impressive place. One of the pictures is of a Lion from about a foot away. Unfortunately (or thankfully) there is a glass wall between he and I. The bad part is the glare coming from the glass. Check out the picture and think how close this really is. In the mean time, here’s a giraffe.

Close enough? How about 3 feet away? There are a few pictures of the girls feeding him. How cool is that? When we were taking this trip I had to fill out a form that told what kind of educational things we would be doing on this trip. Are you kidding me? While they are back at school stacking plastic freakin’ cups as a form of physical education because the multi purpose room (the CafeGymAtorium) is under renovation, my kids were feeding a giraffe! Educational enough?! I sure hope so. This trip has been almost entirely educational. I never expected that either.

My doctor told me I should feel a lot better in 24 hours of taking the prescribed medicines. Guess what, I am writing this just under 24 hours later and feel much, much better. I probably not would have made all the walking today if it wasn’t for the medicines. I owe my doc for that one. Great job!

Everyone we run in to out here is still really friendly, which makes it all much better. We didn’t really have mexican food today, but we were excited to find a Chili’s. Yes, Chili’s. There is not one real close to us at home and we have always like their food, so it worked out. Tomorrow we will do more site seeing and find an In-N-Out burger place for lunch. We’ve had a few people tell us we need to eat there before we leave. They only have 4 things on the menu I hear; burger, cheeseburger, fries, shakes. My kind of place.

We’re starting to want to get back home now. Looking at the weather we left behind, we are in no hurry to get back to the cold though. Looks like things will be nice and warm at home this weekend though, so our timing should be perfect coming home. Val is still nervous about flying since she came so close to needing to use “the bag” in the 2nd leg of our flight. No worries though, I have all of the batteries in all of the cameras ready to go in case she starts to hurl. Don’t worry dear readers, I’ll get it all on film. That’s just the kind of guy I am!
