Tonight we went beyond all reason and purchased a Dyson vacuum cleaner. The DC14 to be exact. My wife had mentioned one before and I did some research and it was rated very highly, but I backed off when I saw the price. Over the last 3 years we’ve gone through 3 cheaper vacuum cleaners and we needed something new.

I was recently given Best Buy gift cards that were burning a hole in my pocket. Best Buy used to be my favorite store, but most of the shine has worn off for me because they sell just about nothing for Apple computers. So I took a walk around the store looking for something to use my gift cards on when I came across the vacuum cleaners. They had the Dysons.

I did a little more research, saw that they were still rated very high and decided to throw all reason in to the wind and purchased the Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaner. We had just swept the house earlier today but I decided to sweep the entire thing again to see if the Dyson would pick up anything more than our other sweeper. The amount of dirt that the Dyson picked up even after we used the other sweeper was amazing. I bet I filled the bagless canister 1/5 of the way full. Yuck. But at least that dirt is out of the carpets and the Dyson is well on its way to making me feel a little better about paying so much for a vacuum cleaner.
