McCartney + iTunes = Happiness

May 30th, 2007

When I was little I remember my Grandmother taking me to a department store and buying me my first album - The Beatles Abbey Road.  Every time I would go visit her she would take me to the store and I would get to pick out a new album.  McCartney, his first solo record, was one of them.  From there I remember buying the next dozen or so McCartney albums on my own.

When the pipes burst in my first apartment all of my albums were ruined.  I’ve replaced many of them with CDs over the years but have more recently been replacing some of them from iTunes.  Today Apple not only added the DRM-free iTunes Plus songs but they also added many of the albums from McCartney’s catalog.  I picked up McCartney and Venus and Mars, probably my favorite McCartney album I ever owned.  So far the tracks sound fantastic.  Since the price was the same for the iTunes Plus albums as the regular iTunes albums I picked up the Plus version.  We’ll see how everything sounds when I listen to them on my iPod and a regular stereo system.

Thanks Apple/EMI/Paul.
